SPONSORS

The Association is dependant on funds contributed by sponsors to meet its operating expenses, to maintain the reserve and, more particularly, to protect it from undesirable and untoward developments in and around the reserve. It should be noted that operating expenses are minimal. All work is done on a voluntary basis and no salaries, wages or honoraria are paid.

Whilst all donations, no matter the amount thereof are always appreciated, two categories of sponsors are formally recognised, viz.:

1. Individual sponsors, (see below) who voluntarily contribute R200 or more per annum to the Association, and
2. Corporate sponsors, (see below) who contribute more than R500 per annum.

The Association is registered with the South African Revenue Service as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) and as such, is entitled to issue tax receipts to its sponsors. These receipts allow sponsors/donors to deduct donations made to the Association, in cash or kind, from their taxable income. The net effect is that the cost of the donation to the donor is reduced by amount of tax that would have been paid had the donation not been made. The savings could be as much as 40% of the amount of the donation, depending on the donor’s income.

Recognition is given to sponsors by way of:

      • Issuing them with a tax receipt
      • Publishing their names on the KNRA web site
